Registered OB Nurse, Certified Breastfeeding Counselor, Doula, Certified Childbirth Educator, and Evidence Based Birth® Instructor and Mentor

Hi and welcome to The Birth Hub. I'm so glad you are here!

My name is Bobbi Jo Bush. I have worked in the hospital setting as a nurse since 1989. For the past 18 years, I have had the wonderful opportunity to work in the birth world in various roles, primarily as a labor and delivery nurse in the hospital setting, a year in home births and a birth center. My experiences with birthing families have created a concern and passion for every expecting couple to receive quality, trustworthy information about childbirth and unbiased compassionate care for themselves and their newborn.

Your body knows what to do.
Your heart and mind need a experienced guide.

Our bodies know how to conceive and develop a baby. It is also hardwired to birth a baby entirely on its own! The challenging piece is to keep our minds and hearts trusting the process and allowing it to work its wonders!

Childbirth is a beautiful rite of passage, transforming a fair maiden into a lionhearted mother. The process also weaves a magical cord of interdependence between she and her partner, adding a more profound love and respect to their foundation. They emerge with a newfound strength and self-concept which has matured them for the next stage of life.

Before the 1900's, when birth moved into the hospital, most young girls and women had grown up seeing birth in the home. It wasn't a mystery. They experienced the birth of their children surrounded by the loving support of aunties, mothers, and others who served as experienced guides to inform, care for, and ease their fears of the unfamiliar.

Because maternal child health and wellness are so important, it is crucial that expecting families learn about health during pregnancy, what to expect during labor and birth, as well as postpartum care for mom, dad and baby.

Having someone by your side who knows the course makes it so much easier! A caring, skillful mentor, is what a couple needs when traversing the path of labor and birth. Research and maternity care providers agree, women and newborns do better with childbirth education and the care of a Doula!
